Dreaming with Eyes Wide Open

Talking about dreams would always takes time. Not everyone share the same dream, let alone understand other's dreams. Some would sound illogical and some would sound realistic. Hence, dreams are something that lit the passion to make them reality. This is a movie about dreams and how to conquer them.

I have to admit I don't watch movie too often for the past two years. I can count with my two hands for the movies I watched in 2 years and that was something. I want to watch more movies this year, just to broaden my general knowledge and to write more reviews, yes. I used to write movie reviews on my other blog but I think since I want to reformat how I write the review, might as well put it here.

The Greatest Showman. At first I'm not interested to watch it. I don't know why I wasn't interested. Funny before watching this movie, I read 2 books about circus in the past couple of months so it felt weird to watch a movie about circus. The movie isn't only about circus but it is about a man (Hugh Jackman) who wanted to live his dream to give his family a good life that he didn't have when he was young.

Okay that's the main story. But the center isn't only about him. We learn about each characters' hardship and development and most of all the main theme is family. How we don't turn back on family and how family would always forgive you and welcome you with open arms. We make mistakes. I think it happens to anyone. How we are blinded by the goods and driven away from our main reason to do what we do.

So many messages from this movie which filled this movie with such heartwarming tone. It teaches us not to stop dreaming and the impossible can be overcome with hard work and strong will. It also teaches us to not be blindsided and brave enough to take the plunge, trying something new, because living in the safety zone wouldn't get you anywhere.

Filled with many talented starts, I can say that this is the first time since High School Musical that Zac Efron showed his good performance. Previous works of his didn't show how good he was when he was in the series that started his career. This is also interesting because Efron was paired with other fellow Disney star, Zendaya. It's difficult to find Disney stars starring together in a movie that isn't Disney so this is fascinating for me.

So, what do you think about the movie? I personally like this movie and this is the kind of movie that is nice to watch over and over again with splendid soundtracks that you can listen on Spotify. Let me know what you think about this movie in the comment box down below :)
