Snack for Thought
I love reading. I think people that knows me could guarantee that I read anything - magazines, comic books, novels, newspapers - and in any genres. I have a huge backlog on my reading and you could see how huge that is on my Goodreads account and check out my NezzyReads - shameless promo.
I used to subscribe to many magazines before but currently I only subscribe to Reader's Digest Asia through Periplus bookstore. I love the contents and how it works as food for thought as most people would say but for me it is snack for thought, as it includes jokes and puns - my favorite part of the magazine.
Recently I bought TIME's The 100 Most Influential People, the annual edition that TIME magazine always have for the most inspiring and empowering people in various fields. What I like about this edition is because the ones that write about them are people that are as inspirational and empowering as the ones on the list. I was wondering whether a lot of people actually read these stuffs like I do because the way they write and rearrange this is beautiful and well-written.
I know not a lot of people reading printed stuffs anymore with the invention of internet and online media and also the birth of e-books. I am an e-book reader. I have a lot on my dropbox account. But I do like reading printed stuffs as well, because nothing beats the texture of paper, the sound of flipped pages and the smell of paper. I am sure as well that nothing beats beautiful printed covers and the spines, whether it is paperback or even hard cover, whether it is embossed or not.
The only limitation of printed stuffs I want is there is not enough space in my house, not even my room. Maybe that is why I stick to more e-books these days. I do want to put away some books I don't read anymore or I haven't read to other people but I do not know where to re-sell them. If there is book garage sale where I could drop some books, please let me know by putting the info on the comment box below. It could help both me and the people that wanted to read the books.
