Continuing my previous blog post inspired by Elizabeth McNair's journal prompt from Life of Lovely, this time I share my favorite song lyric from her March prompt!

Talking about song lyric would be a really long post for me. Since young I have a good memory for remembering song lyrics. It was gibberish at first but since I learned languages and practicing my listening comprehension, my memory of song lyrics are getting better.

I used to re-writing song lyrics in diary and/or notes. I even looked for song lyrics then printing them to know the lyrics. Apparently what I did was helping me to learn English because back then English song lyrics were more fascinating and English isn't my first language too. That aside, song lyrics from my mother language, Indonesian, seemed easier to plaque on my mind though I still think these days the Indonesian song lyrics are not as fascinating as it was before.

Back on favorite song lyric, I might have a difficult time on choosing. Favorite means loved and somehow the most memorable one. Having such memory on song lyrics sometime makes it harder for me to choose. Currently I have two songs in my mind and both of them are not favorite because there were meaning behind them, more like I've been listening to them back and forth.

The first one is Bruno Mars song called That's What I Like. I like to shuffle my music collection when I listen to music, on PC and/or on phone. Somehow my shuffle stops at this song and to be honest I like this more than 24K Magic. Nothing too special about the lyric but because of the beat and rhythm of the song, it makes me enjoying the lyrics and also dancing a lot to it. Never underestimate Bruno Mars songs that aren't promoted as singles because they are just as hooked as the singles (or most of the times for me even better than the singles!).

The last one is Macy Gray song called I'll Try. This isn't a new song, this is an old song that I used to listen in my dad's car whenever he played his CDs. I used to not liking the song because it was different from what I listened to (cue JLo, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, etc) but because it was on loop for that one CD my dad played, I couldn't help memorizing it unconsciously. Fast forward to today, what made me listen to this song and my brain just couldn't stop playing the lyric was because of a tweet by Kurt Hugo Schneider. He posted a part of the chorus and I couldn't help reading it by singing it. Apparently the song grew on me and now the lyrics just can't get out of my head. Please look for the song in Spotify and you might get hooked!

And that was what my CURRENT favorite song lyric. As usual I am very nosy on what your current favorite song lyrics are so please share on the comment box below and maybe, just maybe I might sing the song because you post them on the comment box :P
